Shute Harbour

Approximately 10 kilometres east past Airlie Beach is Shute Harbour, a sheltered port suitable for small vessels only near Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia. Serving mainly as a boarding point for ferries to and from the Whitsunday island resorts and the mainland, and also home to many charter boat operations.

Scattered with boats and surrounded by steep woody banks, Shute Harbour is a hub of marine activity. In fact, it is second only theo Sydney’s Circular Quay as the busiest commuter port in Australia.

For spectacular views of Shute Harbour and the channels and islands of the Whitsunday Passage, take the drive to the top of the headland behind the harbour known as Coral Point.

Secure parking facilities are available for those embarking on a cruise or sailing trip.
